HSMWORKS ENGRAVING SOFTWARE
Just be aware it is a big bad world online, and free software or freeware is a tool used from time to time by those up to no good. The toolpath will not be generated if all of the material is already removed or same the size/larger tool is being used in the rest machining operation. Downloader Beware: Every now and then a great piece of free software will save you time and money. 2D or 3D Pocket toolpaths will not generate using "Plunge Outside Stock" or "Predrill" entry strategies in Fusion 360 and HSM CAMĬheck the settings and verify that there is stock to be machined. This occurs most often with the Pocket toolpath strategy and more information is available at the link below: These warning can occur when a toolpath cannot generate a linking pass between a manually selected Predrill or Entry position and where the toolpath begins.

To work around this issue, either delete the modeled chamfers and use 2D Chamfer or use a 2D Contour toolpath with the modeled chamfers. The 2D Chamfer toolpath is intended to break edges that do not have modeled chamfers while the 2D Contour option will work with modeled chamfers. This warning can also occur when attempting to use a 2D Chamfer toolpath with modeled chamfers. This can be resolved by editing the machining boundary as shown in the video: If the machining boundary is set to "Tool inside boundary," the toolpath will not generate with the "Empty toolpath" message because the 1/2" tool cannot generate any passes in which it is within the machining boundary defined by the projected edges of the sloped face. In the example shown there is a steep angled face to be cut with a Ramp toolpath.

When working with 3D toolpaths, it is important to consider how the machining boundary is applied. In the example previously shown, the "Empty toolpath" warning is shown with a Helical Ramp Diameter of 0.25" but will generate with no errors if set to 0.245." This may show the "A contour was not machined because the given lead parameters would cause a collision" or the "Empty toolpath" warnings. Optimizing toolpath generation in the Fusion 360 CAM workspace article), toolpaths may not generate if the helical diameter is equal to the (slot width)-(tool diameter).
